The PERFECT Wife

She is the ultimate model for us wives who want to be that Good Thing for our husbands.

Let me stop you before you think I'm talking about me. LOL! Now I have grown in who I am enough to know that I... am... the stuff, but I do not ever claim to put forth that I have it all together. Because I don't... yet. When I get to the point that the Holy Spirit is fully functional in my life and I obey His every hoot and holler and I reach that level of perfection, then I hope you give me my props. But as of right now, I'm aiming to get there in my life. I hope to be a role model to women everywhere, but I'm by far, not, the THE Model Woman I'm referring to that all woman should strive to imitate. The one I'm referring to is the super hero described as the Proverbs 31 Woman!

The 31st chapter in Proverbs is such a powerful chapter to me. It has helped to frame my mind to be the type of woman that I am today. The woman discussed in Proverbs chapter 31 starting at the 10th verse is a woman that the mother of King Lemuel (a former Queen) is describing to her son what character traits to seek for in a wife (future Queen). Let me tell you something, she is one bad chick!!! If anyone woman has her stuff together, it.. is.. her!!! She is who I've learned how to model myself after in life. Let's jump in and find out exactly what is says in the bible!

Proverbs 31:10-31 Living Bible (TLB)

"10 If you can find a truly good wife, she is worth more than precious gems! 11 Her husband can trust her, and she will richly satisfy his needs. 12 She will not hinder him but help him all her life. 13 She finds wool and flax and busily spins it. 14 She buys imported foods brought by ship from distant ports. 15 She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her household and plans the day’s work for her servant girls. 16 She goes out to inspect a field and buys it; with her own hands she plants a vineyard. 17 She is energetic, a hard worker, 18 and watches for bargains. She works far into the night!

19-20 She sews for the poor and generously helps those in need. 21 She has no fear of winter for her household, for she has made warm clothes for all of them. 22 She also upholsters with finest tapestry; her own clothing is beautifully made—a purple gown of pure linen. 23 Her husband is well known, for he sits in the council chamber with the other civic leaders. 24 She makes belted linen garments to sell to the merchants.25 She is a woman of strength and dignity and has no fear of old age. 26 When she speaks, her words are wise, and kindness is the rule for everything she says.  27 She watches carefully all that goes on throughout her household and is never lazy. 28 Her children stand and bless her; so does her husband. He praises her with these words: 29 “There are many fine women in the world, but you are the best of them all!”

30 Charm can be deceptive and beauty doesn’t last, but a woman who fears and reverences God shall be greatly praised. 31 Praise her for the many fine things she does. These good deeds of hers shall bring her honor and recognition from people of importance."

As you can see, this woman doesn't stop! I want to pull out a few of her characteristics that stick out to me. She's loyal, diligent, energetic, trustworthy, observant, organized, entrepreneurial, practical, rational, giving, and satisfied! Her husband is satisfied too, so she gotta be holding it down in the bedroom! That's what I want to imitate, she's the total package! She is a family woman, and it seems that she's also about meeting the needs of others too! Let's all be like her. She's the bomb.com! The thing that I love the most is that it talks very little about the beauty of her appearance. That's what we need more of in the world; beautiful souls! This type of woman seems almost too good to be true, but I bet that there are some women that you can think of that remind you of this Proverbs 31 woman! Please, let me know about her! Describe her in detail here, I'd love to hear about her because I love being inspired by the greatness in other women. Be sure to also let me know what you think about the Proverbs 31 woman, and what characteristics you'd like to see in yourself.
